At the beginnin g of 2259 , Captain John Sheridan repla ces Sincl air as t he military g overnor of the station. He and the command sta ff learn that the death o f President Sa ntiago was actually an a ssassination mastermind ed by Vic e President Cla rk (who ass umed the Pres idency upon Sa ntiago&#39 ;s death). A conflict d evelops be tween the Baby lon 5 c ommand s taff an d the Psi Corp s, an increasi ngly autocr atic org anization which overs ees and control s the lives of human t elepaths. Commander Ivan ova, the secon d-in-command of the sta tion, is sec retly a latent telepat h who has illi citly avoi ded regis tering wi th the Psi C orps. The Shadows , an a ncient an d extreme ly powerfu l race who ha ve recently e merged from h ibernation, a re reve aled to b e the ca use of a varie ty of myst erious an d disturb ing even ts, inc luding the at tack on t he Narn outpost at the end of 2258. Centa uri Ambassad or Londo M ollari unknowi ngly enlists their aid thr ough his ass ociation with the mys terious Mr. M orden in t he ongoing con flict with t he Narn. Th e elderl y and ailin g Centauri e mperor, long an advo cate of reconci liation with the Narn , dies suddenly while visiting Babylon 5 . A number of consp irators, includ ing Londo Mollari an d Refa, take control o f the Centauri governme nt by a ssassina ting their op ponents an d placing the l ate emper or&#3 9;s unstable ne phew on the thr one. Their fi rst act is to start open aggress ion against the Narn. Afte r a full-sca le war break s out, t he Centa uri event ually conquer Narn i n a bruta l attack involv ing mass d rivers, outlawed weapons of ma ss destructio n. Towards the end of the year, the Cl ark administ ration begins to sho w incre asingly totali tarian cha racteri stics, clampi ng down o n dissent and restricting fr eedom of s peech. The Vorlon s are r evealed to be the basis of legends about angels o n various world s, includ ing Earth, and are the ancient e nemies of the Shadows . They enli st the aid of S heridan and the Babylo n 5 command sta ff in the struggle a gainst the Shadows.详情
